"Das Barbecü": A rare opportunity to experience a country-western parody of Wagner's Ring cycle. The Hollywood Reporter commented: "Conjure up your basic Texas hootenanny, complete with lassos, long-neck beers, fringed leather and steel guitars. Now, if you can, marry that image with Wagner's Ring cycle, in all its operatic, melodramatic intensity. These improbable, no impossible, bedfellows come deliriously together in this splendidly giddy musical.

Formed in 1996, the Musical Theatre Guild (MTG) is a non-profit membership company of theatrical professionals, who produce and perform a variety of new and rediscovered musical theatre works for the entertainment, education and enrichment of the community. With parallel missions of presenting “Broadway’s forgotten treasures and undiscovered gems in staged reading format” and an extensive educational outreach program, Musical Theatre Guild was awarded the 2005 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre. The company performs at the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale and in the intimate Scherr Forum at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Their outreach programs are featured on the Los Angeles Music Center Educational Division roster.
