EVENT DESCRIPTION
Under the banner of the Ring Festival LA, organized by LA Opera in collaboration with over 50 local cultural institutions, the Institute presents the exhibition Maria Callas and Richard Wagner.
The exhibition includes costumes, jewels, photos, letters and rare memorabilia of both Maria Callas and Wagner collected throughout the years by Bruno Tosi, President of the International Association Maria Callas, which has been committed for the last thirty years to creating a museum dedicated to the great icon of operatic music.
Event organized by this Institute in collaboration with the Italian Consulate General and the Greek Consulate General, Los Angeles and the International Association Maria Callas, Venice.

PARTNER DESCRIPTION
The Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles is one of five government cultural agencies established in the United States by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Founded in 1984, the Institute acts as a cultural intermediary between Italy and the US, in a multifaceted perspective. IIC is a center for cultural and academic activities, a school of Italian language and culture, and a center for art exhibitions, film screenings and videos. It promotes the translation of Italian authors by encouraging local publishers and makes the public aware of Italian artists, as well as literary contests and awards.
